The higher and longer the state of adrenaline, the more a human being develops in the opposite direction.
Instead of understanding, he fights more fiercely for his own rightness.
Instead of co-creating, he divides into camps.
Instead of seeking a solution for the whole, he searches for an escape or victory for himself.
As adrenaline falls, the mind regains distance. Understanding and a common solution become possible again.
You know the state in places you stopped naming:
the jaw in the car,
the neck after an argument,
the chest that tightens before anyone has spoken,
the night when the body will not come down.
You prepare for the argument on the drive home.
It never comes.
The preparation remains.
You enter the room ready for war.
It is only dinner.
That is adrenaline. The war ended outside. It remained in the body.
The texts on this site arise where adrenaline is low.
If you have had enough of fighting yourself or others, of circling the same patterns of thought, behavior and society, this is without adrenaline.
It is the level from which men stop cutting one another’s throats long enough to ask:
Why are we doing this to ourselves?
From that question, this site is written.
Anyone can lower adrenaline.
Lowering it is not the subject of this site.
The subject is us, men: our possibilities, our power, our brotherhood.
The last time everything was quiet, you searched for what was wrong.
Without something to fix, you did not know where to put your hands.
The last time no one needed saving, you did not feel free.
You felt useless.
You know what you protect her from.
You have rarely asked what protects you.
Who are you when nothing needs to be fought, fixed or saved?
